In this episode, singer-songwriter Craig Minowa shares how his songwriting process is something of a spiritual journey through darkness to light.

About Craig Minowa and Cloud Cult:

Craig Minowa is the frontman of Cloud Cult, an indie rock band. Cloud Cult has released 11 albums, the most recent of which is Metamorphosis (2022). The band releases its music through its own environmentally-conscious record label, Earthology Records. This, among other efforts to be environmentally conscious, landed Cloud Cult a spot on Rolling Stone’s Top 10 Green Bands ranking.

The band began in 2000 as Minowa’s solo studio project after he unexpectedly lost his son. It has grown over the years to what it is today: an alternative-orchestral-folk-rock band known for its multimedia artistry and impressive lineup of musicians.

Critics Have Said:

New York Times: “A sprawling kaleidoscopic invocation of the life force with songs that veer from jubilation to simmering prayerful meditation.”

Rolling Stone: “The instrumental arsenal of the Arcade Fire mixed with the gentle electronic throb of the Postal Service.”

Los Angeles Times: “Deserving of loud, boisterous cheers.”

Denver Post: Top 12 Albums of the Decade – “It’s impossible to not be moved…”
