Theological Education Offering

The Episcopal Church does not financially support seminaries.

The General Convention of the Episcopal Church, therefore, has resolved that parishes contribute 1% of their operating income to theological education. This is known as the Theological Education Offering. The Theological Education Offering is the core financial support for each of the Episcopal seminaries in the United States.

Each year, Berkeley strives to increase its annual giving and relies heavily on parish giving in order to do so. We are glad to visit parishes to help them raise awareness of the seminaries’ mission—to preach, to lead educational classes, or to help to develop and implement stewardship plans.
