Graduate Network Town Halls

Zoom Gatherings with Updates from the Quad

All Berkeley graduates are automatically members of the Graduate Network, which is run by alumni/ae.

The Graduate Network runs regular Town Halls over Zoom to connect graduates to one another and the seminary. At these gatherings, alumni/ae hear from Berkeley leadership about what is new at Berkeley.

A Welcome from the current chair of the Graduate Network, The Rev’d Dr. Andrew K. Barnett, ‘12 MDiv, DMin

“These are folks who care about the church and the world, and who have thought deeply about God’s work for us, now.”

Andy Barnett

Dear Berkeley Alumni,

I am delighted to invite you to our Graduate Network Town Hall conversations this year.

Our distinguished guests have offered to spend time with us because they value the work of seminary education, and the continued learning that we all do in ministry. These are folks who care  about the church and the world, and who have thought deeply about God’s work for us, now.

Because of that care and experience, I have found these conversations to be at once encouraging and challenging, inspiring and thought provoking.

There has also been candor and authenticity in the room, which is a gift.  For example, last May, Presiding Bishop Rowe spoke with us about the difficult choices faced when balancing the budget and evaluating staff needs for the church. There was no spin– just colleagues in conversation about the real issues of the moment.

We have scheduled these online gatherings to take place at the end of your working day because we want to make them broadly accessible.  It is our hope that you will find them to be a point of connection with the Berkeley community.

I hope you will find them as meaningful as I have.

Sincerely,

Andy
