Hannah Black becomes Assistant Director for Leadership & Communications

We are thrilled to have welcomed Hannah Black, Ph.D. to BDS as Assistant Director of Leadership and Communications on August 1. Hannah supports Berkeley’s external relations in the areas of Transforming Leaders, advancement, and communications.

Hannah received her M.Phil. (2019) and Ph.D. (2023) in Divinity at the University of Cambridge, where her work focused on resourcing Gregory of Nyssa’s soteriology to advance contemporary discussions in systematic theology. At Cambridge, she served as Decani Scholar at Clare College, where she was a lay leader in a Church of England college chapel. She also served as Editor of Noesis, the divinity graduate journal, and founded Women in Divinity. For the past year, she held the role of Program Coordinator in the Yale Office of Development on the Principal Gifts team. She is also a Research Fellow at YDS’s Jonathan Edwards Center, where she is working on a project to publish the writings of women who were related to Jonathan Edwards.
