Porter Fellow for 2019

April 2, 2019

Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, St George’s College, Jerusalem, and the H. Boone and Violet M. Porter Charitable Foundation are pleased to announce the appointment of Stéphanie Burette as the Porter Fellow at St George’s College for the 2019-20 academic year.

Dr Burette is completing her Master of Divinity degree at Yale in conjunction with Berkeley Divinity School’s Diploma of Anglican Studies and ministry formation program. She is a candidate for holy orders from the Convocation of American Churches in Europe. A member of the American Cathedral in Paris,  she completed master’s and doctoral degrees from the Sorbonne Nouvelle, and was a school teacher in France before coming to Yale.

Her appointment follows that of the Rev’d Della Wager Wells of the Diocese of Rhode Island, who has been serving at St George’s since the Fall of 2018, working with pilgrimage groups and others, as well as contributing to the life of St George’s Cathedral and to the Jerusalem Peacebuilders (JPB) organization.

The Porter Fellowship was established at Berkeley Divinity School through the generosity of the Porter Foundation to enable a recent graduate to spend time in Jerusalem and contribute to, as well as learn from, the work of partner organizations there. Fellows contribute variously to teaching, worship, research, administration, and logistics at St George’s College according to the present needs of the institution and the skills of the particular fellow.
