Join us for Convocation & Reunions : October 15th

Berkeley Divinity School will hold its Convocation and celebration of the 50th Reunion of the Class of 1969, on October 15, 2019.  Alumni, friends and special guests will gather in New Haven for worship, reflection, and festivity, including with the annual meeting of the Graduate Society and the 2019 Pitt Lecture, given this year by Professor Peter Hawkins. Professor Hawkins will deliver his lecture Dante’s Commedia: From Despair to Hope to Glory, at 1:30 p.m. in Neibuhr Hall. The lecture is free and open the public and will be offered as  LiveStream at https://livestream.com/yaledivinityschool.

Additionally, Berkeley will award the degrees of Doctor of Humane Letters to Mary Katherine Wold, CEO and President, Church Pension Group and Doctor of Divinity to Professor Hawkins.  The honorary Degrees will be presented during Evensong, which will take place at 5:00 p.m. in Marquand Chapel.  A reception will follow.

Please plan to join fellow alumni for the annual meeting of the Graduate Societ, beginning at 3:15 p.m., in Niebuhr Hall. In lieu of a seated luncheon this year, we invite alumni to join our Board of Trustees for dinner in the evening at 7:30 p.m., following Evensong.  For more information and to reserve your seat for dinner, contact Kira Wishart (kira.wishart@yale.edu or 203-432-9312). No response is necessary for the Pitt Lecture or Evensong.

Louis Wetherbee Pitt (1893–1959) was a distinguished alumnus and trustee of Berkeley Divinity School and a wise and loving pastor. The Louis Wetherbee Pitt Memorial Fund, which supports the Pitt Lecture, was established by his family to provide for lectures by distinguished preachers and world Christians.
