Berkeley Divinity School welcomes three new members of the Board of Trustees

Richard Chilton

A native of New Jersey and long-time resident of Darien, CT, Richard Chilton is the founder and CEO of Chilton Investment Company.  Through the Chilton Family Foundation, he and his wife Maureen have actively supported numerous charitable organizations, with a primary focus on the environment and culture. Chilton has served on numerous boards, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art to the Robin Hood Foundation, and is co-founder of the Hourglass Wine Company in Napa Valley.

Westina Matthews, PhD

Westina Matthews is a theologian, author, public speaker, and adjunct professor in the Center for Christian Spirituality at General Theological Seminary. Her most recent book, This Band of Sisterhood: Black Women Bishops, on Race, Faith, and the Church, was the Berkeley Divinity School community read in 2022. A long-time resident of New York City, where she previously worked as a Managing Director with Merrill Lynch, she now lives on the Wilmington River near Savannah, GA.

Tracy Johnson Russell ‘95

A Berkeley alumna, Tracy Johnson Russell is the rector of St. Monica’s Episcopal Church in Hartford, CT. With a background in education, including history teacher and school chaplain, she has long been committed to serving young people, and co-founded and serves as executive director of Your Place Youth Center in Hartford. She has held numerous positions in the Diocese of Connecticut (ECCT), including the Executive Council and the Racial Justice and Racial Reconciliation Ministry Network.
