Berkeley Divinity School, the Episcopal seminary at Yale, is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Yejide Peters as its next Associate Dean and Director for Formation. A graduate of The University of Michigan (B.A.) and Yale University (M.Div.), Peters is currently serving as vicar of St. Chad’s with St. Mary’s and St. Alkmund’s in Shrewsbury, England.  Her experience also includes nine years as rector of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Briarcliff Manor, NY, associate rector of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, VA, and board leadership in organizations such as Forward Movement and Rural Migrant Ministries.

Berkeley Dean and President the Very Rev. Dr. Andrew B. McGowan says, “Yejide Peters brings to Berkeley at Yale a wealth of pastoral experience on two continents, keen insights into both academic and practical aspects of theology, and a passion for diversity and inclusion. And above all she has a deep passion for the Gospel and the work of forming students for the ministry to which God is calling them. I’m enormously grateful that she has accepted this call to come work with us.”

In accepting this position, Peters says, ”I am honored and excited for this opportunity to work with Dean McGowan, and the faculty and staff of Berkeley Divinity School and Yale Divinity School. I am passionate about forming, supporting, and preparing leaders from diverse backgrounds for service to Christ’s church and the world, and I can think of no better place to do so than Berkeley Divinity School.”

Founded in 1854, Berkeley Divinity School at Yale is an accredited seminary of The Episcopal Church and has been affiliated with Yale Divinity School since 1971.
