This is a partial list of scholarships and grants available for Episcopal students, though not all are exclusive to that denomination.  Some are quite restricted, others more open.  Please check back frequently for updates! 

Robert Schreck Memorial Scholarship

For Residents of El Paso County, Texas

  • Summary: To provide funding to residents of El Paso County, Texas who are interested in preparing for a career in medicine, physics, chemistry, engineering, or with the Episcopal Church.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have completed at least 2 full years of college, have been a resident of El Paso Country for at least 2 years prior to the time the distribution is made, be able to demonstrate financial need, and be studying in one of the following areas: medicine, including veterinary medicine; physics; chemistry; engineering and any of its branches, including architecture; or the Episcopal clergy, Diocese of SW Texas and Diocese of the Rio Grande.

Scudder Association Educational Grants

  • Summary: To provide educational grants to students who are pursuing careers in the helping professions. Those students studying for the ministry, medicine, nursing, other medically related careers, teaching and social services, who show promise for the future, and demonstrate financial need will be considered.
  • Eligibility: Students must be studying in the fields of medicine, divinity, or social work. Students must demonstrate scholarship and high standards in their field of study as well as financial need.
  • Amount: $1,000 - $2,500

Vera Gang Scott Scholarship

For Episcopal Women from Texas

  • Summary: To provide educational grants to students who are pursuing careers in the helping professions. Those students studying for the ministry, medicine, nursing, other medically related careers, teaching and social services, who show promise for the future, and demonstrate financial need will be considered.
  • Eligibility: Students must be 1) a female communicant in good standing, 2) accepted or enrolled at a college or university, 3) pursuing professional certification or a degree from an accredited institution, 4) able to demonstrate financial need.

  • Summary: To provide educational grants to students who are preparing for ministry in the Episcopal Church

Anne Kumpuris Scholarship

For Rising Middlers and Seniors

  • Summary: To provide scholarship assistance to those pursuing theological education.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be entering their second or third year of enrollment in an accredited Episcopal Seminary in the United States, and he or she should be seeking Holy Orders in the Episcopal Church of the United States of America or in one of the sister churches in the Anglican Communion. As one seeking Holy Orders through the ordination process, the applicant must have a sponsoring diocese from the Anglican Communion.

Bena Dial Scholarship

For Students in the Diocese of Upper South Carolina

  • Summary: This is a one-time scholarship for college, technical, and graduate school students with a B average. In addition, graduating high school seniors are eligible to apply.
  • Eligibility: Bena Dial scholars are active Episcopalians who must use the award to attend, as a full-time student, an accredited college, vocational school, or graduate school. Selection criteria are academic and extracurricular school and/or community activities, church activities, and financial need.

Church Training & Deaconess House Program

For Women

  • Summary: To provide financial assistance for graduate school to Episcopal women preparing to be ordained or for a post-baccalaureate program that would further her lay ministry.
  • Eligibility: Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. Consideration is given to excellence of academic record, quality of the essay, and financial need.
  • Amount: $2,000 - $3,000

DuBose Scholarship

  • Summary: This is a need based scholarship for those studying for ordained ministry in an accredited seminary
  • Eligibility: Must be at least 32 years of age by May 1 of the application year, enrolled in an approved seminary, and a postulant or candidate for Holy Orders in The Episcopal Church.
  • Amount: Varies
  • Other: Application MUST be signed by your bishop and must be submitted by mail, that is, not electronically.

Eastern Star Religious Scholarships

For Residents of California

  • Summary: To provide financial assistance to graduating high school seniors, continuing undergraduate and graduate students at an accredited college, university, community college, trade school, or religious institution.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be a United States Citizen and California resident. Applicants we fund for scholarships will primarily be those with Masonic ties or those who are members of our Masonic Youth Groups. Students must have a minimum cumulative 3.0, unweighted GPA. demonstrate a financial need, and have a strong high school and/or community leadership record. If applying for the religious scholarship (ESTARL), the applicant must be entering a theological college or seminary.
